Bobcat Skiers Move Up One Spot at NCAA Championships

Despite rainy conditions the Nordic classic races went off without a hitch at the 2011 NCAA Skiing Championships which saw the Montana State ski team move up one spot into ninth, five points ahead of Northern Michigan.

Despite rainy conditions the Nordic classic races went off without a hitch at the 2011 NCAA Skiing Championships which saw the Montana State ski team move up one spot into ninth, five points ahead of Northern Michigan.
MSU's highest finish came as Bernhard Roenning finished 18th overall in 1:07.44.
Colorado's Reid Pletcher became just the third American-born racer to win the 20-k classical at the NCAAs finishing in 1:05.31.
The Bobcats also received support on the men's side by Ryan Scott, 27th, 1:09.03, and Tyler Reinking, who placed on the heels of Scott in 28th with a clocking of 1:09.03.7.
Newcomer Ase Carlson paced the Montana State women finishing 19th covering the 15-k course in 56:41.8, followed by Casey Kutz, 27th, 58:26.0.
CU's Eliska Hajkova won the individual crown in 53:33.3.
Colorado sits atop the team standings with a comfortable 647 points. The Buffaloes are followed in the top ten by Utah 562.5, Dartmouth 500.5, New Mexico 492, Vermont 451.5, Denver 409, Alaska-Anchorage 408.5, New Hampshire 222, MSU 190, and Northern Michigan 185.
The championship will conclude Saturday with the alpine with the slalom events.
