The public is invited to MSU's 3:30 pm Wednesday press conference
Fresh off winning a share of the 2010 Big Sky Championship and riding the momentum of an imminent project at Bobcat Stadium expansion project, Rob Ash hoped to hit it big with his 2011 recruiting class.
If all goes as expected, his hopes could come to fruition on Wednesday. The public unveiling of Montana State's 2011 football recruiting class occurs at 3:30 pm in the Stadium Club at Bobcat Stadium.
Ash and his staff expect to announce 22 new recruits, joining the program's four mid-year transfers, including 10 linemen. The new recruits, who are allowed to sign National Letters-of-Intent for the first time on Wednesday, average 6-3 and 220 lbs, while the linemen in the group check in at 6-4 and 255 lbs.
“Up front, we got a group of guys with a combination of good strength and good size and good height,” Ash said. “We think we signed a group of linemen who can grow into their position.”
Athletically, Ash likes the potential of his group, as well. “We signed a lot of versatile players, guys who we don't know exactly what position they'll play. We think this class will be able to adapt to the needs of the program over time.”
The public is invited to the press conference announcing MSU's 2011 recruiting class. Artist's renderings of Bobcat Stadium's expansion plans will also be available for perusal.
