Bobcats, Bearkats battle in FCS Quarterfinals
It's a deja vu feeling for Montana State Associate Athletic Director Dan Davies.
A former Bobcat football player and assistant coach, Davies was with the Bobcats back in 1986, when MSU made its first trip to Huntsville to face Sam Houst State. That day marked the opening of SHSU's Bowers Stadium. Montana State played the role of gracious guest that day, losing 23-6, but won its 1989 visit to Huntsville, 15-10.

The Bobcats enter today's Playoff game in good health, but took a couple of hits this week. Most noteably, safety Joel Fuller is a game time decision after struggling all week with a foot injury sufffered against New Hampshire last week. If he is not able to go, Rob Marshall gets his first start.
Reserve receiver Chase Young is out with a knee injury. His status won't effect the depth chart, but takes a chunk out of the kick teams. In his stead, CJ Palmer, from nearby Houston, enters the day as a kick teams mainstay.
"I hope CJ has a great day today," MSU coach Rob Ash says of his senior running back whose carries have diminished throughout the season. "He deserves a chance to have a big impact on this game."

Montana State brings 15 native Texans back to the Lone Star State. Five of them start.

The Bobcats had a reunion of sorts on Friday when the team held a walk-through at Texas A&M. Former MSU men's basketball coach and development director Stu Starner led a group of MSU fans on a tour of the A&M facilities. Aggies Athletic Director Bill Byrne, a former student-athlete at Idaho State, came by for a visit with MSU officials, as well.
