Montana State jumped out to an early 1-0 lead over Sacramento State, but the Hornets rallied in the next three sets to post a 23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-21 win over the Bobcats, Thursday night in Hornet Gym.

Montana State (3-22, 2-12) opened the match hitting .231 from the field, but only attacked at a .050 clip the rest of the contest. Sacramento State (15-13, 8-5) hit .267 for the match.
The Bobcats were paced by Alex Penewell, who matched a career-high with 12 kills, while Sarah Horton added 11. Horton recorded her third consecutive double-double with 19 digs.
Penewell, who was the 2010 Big Sky Newcomer of the Year, finished the match with a team-best .458 attack mark, while adding three blocks.
Defensively, Bobcat libero Nicole Baker notched a match-high 27 digs and added three aces.
Eryn Kirby paced the Hornets with 17 kills and 16 digs.
MSU will venture into non-conference action on Friday and Saturday with back-to-back matches at Cal State University Bakersfield
