Bobcats roll over ISU, look forward to Wildcats
Montana State claimed its eighth victory of the season Saturday, which includes the seven Division I wins which stands as the unofficial benchmark for FCS Playoff eligibility, with a 54-13 win over Idaho State. The Bobcats, 8-1 overall and 6-0 in Big Sky play, head to Ogden, Utah, next week to face Weber State.

OUT - SEASON: DE Preston Gale (knee), RB Kerry Sloan (knee), LB Roger Trammell (knee).

PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
Offense – RB Cody Kirk (5-10, 214, So, Frenchtown, MT)
Montana State's sophomore running back rushed for 184 yards on 24 carries and scored four touchdowns to tie a school record, in leading Montana State to a 54-13 win over Idaho State. Kirk rattled off a career-long 72-yard touchdown run, and also a 22-yarder. The 184-yard effort moved Kirk into 8th place in the FCS and second in the Big Sky with 123.8 yards per game. He has rushed for 528 yards and six touchdowns in the last three games, and has six 100-yard games this season.
Defense – LB Clay Bignell (6-2, 240, Sr, Helena, MT)
Clay Bignell shared the Bobcat lead with four tackles, and also nabbed his first interception of the season. Bignell returned the interception to the ISU 14-yard line, which set up a Bobcat touchdown. Bignell, MSU's middle linebacker, played a key role in stifling the Bengals' offense, holding ISU to 290 total yards, including 29 on the ground.
Special Teams – Kruiz Siewing (5-11, 189, Jr, Saco, MT)
The junior receiver set the tone for Montana State's win on Saturday by recovering an on-side opening kickoff also turned kick returner Daniel McSurdy across the field before he was tackled by Heath Howard at the Bengal 13-yard line midway through the second quarter, and saved a punt that from going into the end zone, which was eventually downed at the ISU four-yard line.
