The Bobcats host NAU for Parents/Family Fall Weekend on Saturday

Rankings don't matter when Lumberjacks come calling
Montana State's troubles against Northern Arizona are well-chronicled, but as the sun rises over the Bridgers they bear repeating: NAU has won its last two trips to Bozeman, and are 3-1 against Bobcat coach Rob Ash.
MSU coach Rob Ash thinks he has pinpointed a reason. "They're a very good football team," Ash says. "They always have good talent, and the players are well-coached."
Ash cautions that NAU's 2-3 record is not indicative of the program's talent level. "It really comes down to bad luck," he said. "Portland State blocked a field goal and they threw an interception late against Eastern Washington or they could very easily be 3-0 and this would look like a much different game to the fans."
But not to Ash. "No matter what their record is, this will be a tough, tough game."

It's always good to see Jimmy Beal, even when he's wearing enemy colors. The NAU running backs coach for the second year, Beal played running back and receiver for the Bobcats from 2002-04. Known for his work ethic and smile, Beal finished his career at Rocky Mountain College.

The Bobcats are expected to be without starting tackle Leo Davis for the second straight week. Davis is out with a sprained knee.
If the senior from Billings does miss the game, it will be a missed opportunity for family members from around the state to see the popular Davis compete for the Bobcats. Over 70 members of his families, including his parents Doug and Debbie, are expected to be on hand for Parents Day.
