Bobcat Women's Tennis Team Down UMKC at Air Force Invite

The MSU women's tennis team finished its play at the Air Force Invite with a 5-2 win over UMKC on Sunday morning.
The Montana State women's tennis team finished its play at the Air Force Invitational going 1-1, including a 5-2 victory over the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Against UMKC, the Bobcats opened the match winning the doubles point, with victories at the No. 1 and 2 spots. MSU then captured wins at Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 6 singles to secure the victory.
Senior Laura Villegas won her third straight singles match of the weekend, defeating UMKC's Laura Bouet 6-4, 6-2 at No. 3 spot in the ladder.
“I thought we played great tennis this weekend,” said MSU head coach Denise Albrecht. “We are young and inexperienced, but that isn't stopping us from competing at our best. It was a super team effort against UMKC.”
On Saturday, the Bobcats dropped a 6-1 decision to AFA. Villegas claimed MSU's only point with a 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 win over Christen Monreal at the No. 1 singles spot.
MSU is idle this weekend.
