Portland State Downs Bobcat Spikers in Big Sky Opener

Portland State handed the Montana State volleyball team a straight set 25-19, 25-14, 25-13 setback in the Big Sky Conference opener for both squads, Friday night in the Stott Center.
Portland State (6-5, 1-0) out-hit Montana State (2-8, 0-1) .306 to .120 and also held a 47-24 advantage in kills, en route to the victory.
Montana State was paced in the loss by Kyla Hendry with a team-high eight kills, .412 attack mark and four blocks. Defensively, the Bobcats were led by Meghan Albiston with a match-high 20 digs.
Portland State was guided by Whitney Phillips with a match-high 16 kills.
MSU will play at Eastern Washington on Saturday night.
