Four Track and Field Receive COSIDA Academic Award

The awards are given by the College Sports Information Directors of America and voted on by all COSIDA members. To be eligible, athletes must have a grade point average above 3.2 and embody excellence in their sport. Members of the first team All-District team will be eligible for the All-America All-Academic awards to be released later in the month.
Seniors Elisabeth Driscoll (Engineering), Chris Baldus (Business/Finance) and junior Nick Atwood (Geology) garnered first team honors while senior Ellie Rudy (Cell Biology and Neuroscience) received second team honors on the women’s side.
Driscoll ended her collegiate career with a conference championship in the 10K and was a two-time track and field all-conference selection as well as a three-time all-conference cross country selection. Ellie Rudy is the only eight-time conference champion in the history of the Big Sky Conference in addition to a two-time national champion in the indoor pole vault.
Baldus was a 2009 Awards of Excellence recipient in addition to a multiple all-conference academic honoree. He was an all-conference selection in 2006. Atwood was all-conference at the 2008 indoor meet and also all-conference in cross country in 2006.
Baldus, Atwood and Driscoll are eligible for All-America All-Academic honors.
