Montana State shored up its passing game and its pass defense on Friday, adding a pair of junior college players to the Bobcat program, MSU head coach Rob Ash announced.
Defensive back Anthony Cosme comes to MSU from Fullerton (CA) Junior College, where he registered 40 tackles with two interceptions and one pass breakup last season. The 6-0, 210 lb junior earned all-conference honors. Cosme played high school ball at Lakewood (CA) High School.
"Anthony is a hard-hitting and versatile athlete who will challenge for playing time at defensive back," Ash said. "He is tough, fast and strong, and he brings an excellent work ethic to the program."
Receiver Julius Lloyd finished second on the West Hills Community College team with 22 catches and 337 yards last fall. He registered 209 receiving yards the year before. The 6-1, 175 lb junior prepped at Inglemoor High in Kenmore, WA, earning All-Metro honors.
"Julius is a versatile and talented receiver who has good speed, good moves, and the potential to beat man coverage," Ash said. "He is consistent, hard-working and a great team player and he will fit in nicely with our current cast of players."
