Tyrrell Places 23rd in Prelim

Tyrell, a sophomore from Grand Forks, North Dakota, threw 142’11”, well short of her season best 166’1”. The top 12 finishers in the event will throw in the finals on Friday. Anna Wessman, a freshman from Texas-El Paso has the longest throw at 181’5”. The 12th place throw in the first round was 159’3”.
Junior Nick Lam was scheduled to throw in the men’s javelin, but the meet had a weather delay Wednesday afternoon that postponed the beginning of the event to 9:00 p.m. Mountain time.
