Montana State Volleyball Squad Adds Defensive Specialist

Porter is a two-time team captain and a first-team all-region selection at Monarch High School. A three-time letterwinner, she led the Coyotes to a 16-6 overall mark last fall. During her tenure at MHS, Porter guided the squad to a 56-25 record, playing in the Front Range Conference.
“We’re excited that we were able to pick up an athlete of her ability this spring,” Schaub said. “She is a natural passer and played a big role on her club team. She possesses great ball control abilities, which is an area we need to improve upon.”
Playing for the Colorado Performance club program, Porter helped the team to a second place finish at the 2009 Show-Me national qualifier. Her club program captured the 2008 Far-Western junior national title and went on to a 13th place finish at the junior olympics in Dallas.
An outstanding athlete, Porter also competed in gymnastics. She is the daughter of Mark and Jodi Porter of Louisville, Colorado.
