Track and Field to Dual Grizzlies Saturday
5/1/2009 12:00:00 AM | Track & Field
In the past, the intrastate rivalry has brought out some of the best performances of the season. Head coach Dale Kennedy hopes this meet will be no different.
“This is always a competitive meet,” Kennedy said. “We are looking to get some more conference qualifying performances this weekend and we think we can come away with a couple team victories at the same time.”
Records for the meet are on pages 5-6 of the release. The longest standing record in the meet between the two schools was set in 1968 in the men’s 100 by UM’s Roy Robinson at 10.49. The men’s series stands at 53-22 in favor of the Griz and the women’s series is tied at 13-13.
Field events begin at Dornblaser Field at 9:30 a.m. and track events begin at noon.
