Binford Completes Montana State Recruiting Season with Junior College Transfer

Beata Bak, a 6-2 forward from Stalowa Wola, Poland, will transfer from Miles Community College in Miles City, Mont., where she played the past two seasons.
“Beata will bring us instant experience at the post,” Binford said. “In addition, she has the skill set that will allow us to play her at the four and five spots.”
Bak, who was the Mon-Dak Conference most valuable player this winter, averaged 16.5 points and 9.3 rebounds, while shooting 47 percent from the field and 71 percent from the free throw line. She also added 45 steals, 37 assists and 26 blocks, as the Lady Pioneers posted a 21-7 overall mark and a 12-3 league slate.
Bak, who possesses good shooting range, knocked down 20 3-pointers last season, en route to being named a Mon-Dak Conference First-Team honoree.
“Beata has a great feel for the game,” Binford said. “She has an awesome personality and will be a good fit for our program.”
The signing of Bak concludes the recruiting season for Binford. In all, the Bobcats will welcome seven newcomers to the program next fall.
MSU will loose the services of seniors Nubia Garcia, Mara Hoefer and Anne Phippard. In addition, freshman Rachel Pauli has decided not to return next season.
“This class will give us balance and depth as we look to take the next step with the program,” Binford said. “They will help continue our up-tempo style, along with giving us some different options on the defensive end. We’re excited to have such a great group coming in next fall.”
