Matt Adams Sets Steeplechase Record at Long Beach Invite

This wasn’t the junior’s first run at the event, but he did get to a new level of performance as he set a meet record, winning the event in 8:59.71. The old record at the Beach Invitational was 9:04, and Adams’ previous best was 9:13.68. His winning time also qualified him for the NCAA regional meet. Teammate Matt Beamer placed fifth in the event with a lifetime-best 9:20.89.
Bozeman’s Elizabeth Driscoll ran a lifetime best in the 1500, placing fifth with a time of 4:38.41. Kala Jauquet and Heather Haug qualified for the Big Sky Conference meet in the 800 while freshman Patrick Casey ran an career best in the 800 and 1500.
