If middle linebacker stood as a question mark for Montana State entering the spring, sophomore Clay Bignell left it as an exclamation point after Saturday' Triangle Classic Spring Game in Great Falls.
Bignell capped a very good spring with three sacks, two pass breakups, and continuous quarterback pressure throughout MSU's spring game.
"I think I played good tonight," the Helena Capital product said, "and showed the improvement I've made throughout the spring."
Bignell said he and his defensive mates wanted to use the spring game as a spring board to the fall. "We wanted to come out and make a point of how good we can play, of how good a defense we are."

While MSU's offense didn't sparkle Saturday, the Bobcat running game again proved productive, as it has all spring. Ricky Evans, CJ Palmer and Blayde Becksted combined to rush for 166 yards on 38 carries, an average of 4.4 yards per carry.

MSU's Triangle Classic continues to serve as a capstone for the Bobcats' academic year. A crowd of 3,515 poured into Memorial Stadium on Saturday night, just 24 hours after more than 1,000 filled Four Seasons Arena for the event's banquet. NFL Hall of Famer told the assembled crowd Friday, "I love to see this much passion for football!"
