Women Throwers Do Well at Azusa

At the California Invite for multi event competitors at Azusa Pacific, Asa Staven placed 16th overall in the large field of elite competitors. Also competing in the event were senior Mike Green, senior Amanda DeHaan and freshman Sara McGree.
At the Bryan Clay Invite at Azusa, Bobcat women throwers continued their tradition of excellence. Allison Jones placed fourth in the shot put with a toss of 45’1.75” and fifth in the hammer throw with 174’2”. Kris Schaffer placed fifth in the shot with 45’1”. Amanda Murphy placed fourth in the hammer throw at 176’0”.
Bobcats finish their swing Saturday with the Long Beach Invitational and the MT SAC Relays. MSU also has a contingent at the Montana Open in Missoula
