Montana State Men Chop Down Northern Arizona Netters

Montana State (11-8, 3-1) opened the match winning the doubles point at the top two spots. MSU’s No. 1 tandem of Jakub Dybala and Pawel Turzanski posted a 9-7 win over NAU’s David Floodberg and Jake Tracy.
The Bobcats stretched the advantage to 3-0 as Fletcher Keyes and Dybala opened singles action with straight set victories.
MSU clinched the match as Turzanski, a sophomore from Lodz, Poland rallied for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over Floodberg.
“The guys are really starting to peak at the right part of the season,” said MSU men’s coach Mike Phillips. “This is the kind of confidence and momentum we want to build with the Big Sky tournament only two weeks away.”
Northern Arizona notched its only point of the match at No. 1 singles, where Andrew Reiff downed MSU’s Corey Smith 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(6).
The Bobcats closed out the match with wins at Nos. 5 and 6 as Alberto Fuentes notched a straight set victory, while Esteban Ferrero held on for a 6-3, 1-6, 10-8 decision.
Montana State will host Weber State, Sunday at 10 a.m. at the BATC.
