This week, the ‘Cats have their final home game of the 2009 season on Tuesday night against Weber State. MSU clinched a spot in the BSC playoffs and will be traveling to Montana for a play-in game Saturday, Mar. 7 at 7:00 p.m. Ticket information on the game will be released later this week. Tuesday will be senior night for Divaldo Mbunga.

The Bobcat women finish their regular season at home this week with a pair of games that may determine their seeding in the BSC tourney. Currently the ‘Cats are in third place, one game ahead of Idaho State who finishes their season this week with one game at Weber State. Saturday night will be Senior Night for Nubia Garcia, Mara Hoefer, and Anne Phippard.

Mar. 6 – Last Chance Qualifier, location TBD
This weekend marks the last chance for Bobcat track and field athletes to qualify for the NCAA championships with an automatic or provisional mark. Track and field head coach Dale Kennedy will make an announcement later in the week about any athletes that will be competing at a last chance qualifier.
Skiing
Coming:
Mar. 11-14: NCAA Championships
Bobcat Nordic and Alpine skiers head for the NCAA National Championships this week hosted by Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. The two venues for the championships are Sunday River in Bethel, Maine (Nordic) and Black Mountain in Rumford, Maine (Alpine). Practice runs begin Monday, March 9 with Alpine races starting Wed., March 11 at Black Mountain. Nordic competition will begin Thursday, March 10.

Mar. 8: at Sac State, 9 a.m.
Women’s tennis heads to sunny California this week for a pair of matches, including one conference match against Sacramento State. Both schools are tied for the conference lead at 2-0.

Senior Kelly Gillum notched her first collegiate tourney win at the Red Rocks Invite over the weekend. Gillum shot a 148 to win medalist honors. The ‘Cats placed seventh as a team out of 18 at the meet.
