Bobcat Football Faces Exciting Home Slate in 2009

Two games non-conference games with regional flavor, a trip to a Big 10 stadium for a second straight year, and back-to-back home games to close the regular season highlight Montana State's 2009 football schedule, announced on Monday.
"We're excited to play six home games next fall," said MSU coach Rob Ash. "We have great fans and a terrific game-day experience at Bobcat Stadium and I'm excited that we'll get to play in front of our fans six times."
The Bobcats play Michigan State for the first time in history, squaring off with a Spartan team that finished 2008 with a 9-3 regular season mark before losing to Georgia in the Capital One Bowl. The Bobcats lost at Minnesota of the Big 10 last fall, 35-23.
Montana State hosts NCAA Division II squad Dixie State, and South Dakota, in its first year counting as a Football Championship Subdivision opponent in 2009. MSU topped the Coyotes 37-18 in Bozeman last fall in the first meeting between the schools.
MSU opens conference play with back-to-back road games, visiting Northern Colorado (September 26) and defending league co-champion Weber State (October 3). That is balanced by a two-game homestand to close the regular, as MSU hosts Sacramento State on November 14 and the 109th Cat-Griz game on November 21.
