Montana State Skiers in 7th Place at NCAA West Regional/RMISA Championships

LaMar was followed closely by Joey Nelson, who placed 15th in 1:49.73. Also earning points for the Bobcats was Alex van Roon, who finished 20th in 1:51.14. Freshman Paul Britvar did not finish the first run.
New Mexico won the men's portion of the slalom with 76 points, followed by Nevada 73, Utah 69, Colorado 59, MSU 48, Alaska-Anchorage 47, Denver 46 and Whitman 26.
The Montana State women didn't fare as well scoring 36 points.
MSU was paced by Hannah Victory in 15th place with a two-run clocking of 2:09.92. The sophomore from Mammoth Lakes, Calif., posted the second fastest second run with a time of 1:05.10.
Also earning points for the Bobcats were Carmel McElroy, 27th, 2:23.90; and Megan Bacharach, 32nd, 3:02.85. Amy Lattimer ended the day 35th overall in 3:39.02, while Ali Leighton did not finish the second run.
New Mexico leads the team standings after the opening day with 151 points. The Lobos are followed by Nevada 141, Denver 127, Colorado 124, Utah 106, Alaska-Anchorage 91, MSU 84, and Whitman 61.
Friday's events will include the giant slalom and Nordic classical races.
