Atwood Gets Second Big Sky Athlete of Week Award

Atwood, a junior from Otis Orchards, Washington, won the 3000 meter run at the Mountain States Invite with a time just three seconds off the NCAA provisional qualifying mark. The time of 8:09.90 puts him on the top of the Big Sky Conference performance list in the event.
Atwood will be traveling to the Huskie Classic on Saturday hosted by the University of Washington, to run for an NCAA qualifying time in the 3000. The Washington meet will feature elite runners from Pac 10 schools and throughout the west vying for national qualifying marks. The NCAA indoor championships are March 13-14 at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
