A look at Montana State's 85-82 win over defending Big Sky Champion Portland State on Sunday...
• Montana State's win snapped a three-game Vikings win streak in the series
• Will Bynum scored a career-high 24 points, and his seven steals was one from the school record of eight by Chris Conway (12/3/87, Louisiana Tech)
• Divaldo Mbunga's two blocked shots raises his career total to 68, seventh-best in school history
• Montana State's 56.1% shooting day was its best of the season
• MSU shot 57.7% from the line Sunday, giving the Bobcats five sub-60% free throw games in the last seven
• Portland State's 0-2 trip through Montana gives the Vikings their first two-game conference losing streak since 2006
FROM MSU COACH BRAD HUSE: "I thought we were aggressive on both ends today, and that was our message going in, just be the aggressors. They're so scary, because they have so many guys who can score. They have multiple weapons, and that's what makes it so hard to guard them. But we hung on."
On Will Bynum: "I thought he had a great all-around game tonight. He matched their athleticism, to an extent. He kept the pressure up by attacking off the dribble and in transition. For us it starts with defense. They got in the 80s, which is a lot of points, but I'm pleased with our production."
On the offense: "At halftime I told the coaches I thought we were doing a much better job of sharing the basketball, trying to find open guys. We're slowly showing more poise on the offensive end. When we've had trouble offensive we've let pressure get to us, and they certainly pressured us up. But we did a better job showing poise and not letting them hurry us up. I thought that was critical."
FROM MSU GUARD WILL BYNUM: "This was a big win for us. We needed that. Coach wanted us to play together as a team, and I think we did that today."
On his seven steals: "I like pressuring the ball, getting up and playing in passing lanes."
On MSU's Defensive effort: "Coach said that defense wins games. I think we played better defense today."
