Bobcats battle injuries heading into NAU game
Montana State sophomore defensive end Brad Smith's season has ended, Rob Ash announced Tuesday. Smith will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery.
"Brad Smith is going to have surgery this week and he's going to be out for the season," Ash said. "That's unfortunate for Brad. He's been a hard-luck case since he's been here. He did not get a medical redshirt as a freshman, it was just a non-participation redshirt, so he has two years left to play. This will not be a year he can get back. He play the next two years. It will be a six month rehab, probably."
Ash said the Bobcats will keep their eyse on the linebacker position this week, where "we're battling a couple shoulder problems," he said. "(Jeff) Price and Jody Owens are probably day-to-day here until the weekend. I would say (Price is) a little bit closer (than he was a week ago). We're saying day-to-day now, 50-50 as opposed to doubtful."
