The big thing is getting everybody to believe in each other. When you have a lot of injuries it can get depressing, but we have kids that are stepping up and playing. You just have to keep plugging away. There's no easy speech or thing to do, you just have to hope that perserverence, hard work, and the desire to win carries you through.

Theyr'e coming along and working hard. They're both probably a year away from helping a lot, but they're great kids and they're coming along. I'm glad they're here.

How young do you want to go? We have a lot of youth, and I'm pretty excited about a lot of them. The two freshmen we brought in this year, Fitzpatrick and Abercrombie. Fitzpatrick, with his size, has a chance to be pretty special.

Hopefully, yes. He's still a little sore and not quite 100 percent, but hopefully he'll continue to heal. Where you'll see more of him, though, is on defense. He's moved to corner to help with the lack of depth. But we still have some things in for him.

There are three key areas of improvement. One is consistent quarterback play, two is consistent O-line play, and three is the progress of the young receivers. Elvis and those guys are starting to get in the flow of things pretty good.

Each week we evaluate who is being productive, not only in games but in practice. That's a decision we go over every week, considering what's best for the team. Sometimes when two guys play it takes a little of the pressure off each guy, and it allows us to see who has the hot hand.

I hope so. We have good tight ends. They do a great job of catching the ball. Our offense is at its best when we distribute the ball everywhere, not just to one player or position group, so our goal is to keep a lot of different people involved in the offense.

All positions. We prefer not to go the transfer route unless we absolutely need to, we prefer freshmen. That doesn't mean we won't take a transfer if he can help us, but we're looking at adding freshmen at all position groups this year.

The QB play has been consistent, the O-line play has been consistent, and we've had balance running and throwing. If we get one-dimensional it's tough. If we can stay balanced we can remain productive.

Right now he's a great utility guy to have, and we love him because he'll do anything we ask of him. He's one of the hardest workers on the team, and so we're looking for ways he can help us each and every week.

Coming off the game we're coming off of, the kids feel like they have a chip on their shoulder. It's always scary playing a team like this, but I think our kids feel like they have something to prove, and the way the game turned out last week may help us this week.

Athletic ability, toughness, touch on his throws. The Montana winter has been a bit tough on him so far. But once he learns to throw in the cold he'll be fine. But you're right, his leadership has been excellent!

I don't know if I want to say surprise, but the thing a lot of us are very excited about is how well Aaron Mason has played this year, and that we're getting consistently good play out of two quarterbacks, not just one. We're starting to see how explosive we can be when we have balance. We didn't have balance early in the year. We thought we would be more balanced early, but we're getting it now and that's made us tough.

In some regards, yes, because you have your base things in. When you have those things down you have more time to have some fun with some exotics and things like that.

The atmosphere, the adrenaline rush. Seeing the kids compete. Not many people get to experience game day the way we do. Sometimes you take it for granted, but it's an intense experience. For adrenaline junkies, that's a big part of it.

As a staff, we talk about what the defense is doing, are they doing what they thought they'd do or something different, what's working well and what isn't. Then we talk about what we can change to take advantage of what they did to us in the first half. So it's a group discussion with the coaches, then we get with the players to let them know about the changes we've decided on, then we hit the field. It all happens pretty quick.

First of all, you've obviously seen that he's a pretty dynamic player with the ball in his hands. His strengths are his athletic ability with the ball in his hands. He's still not a real polished receiver, and we continue to work on that so we can get him the ball down the field.
