Rudy and Atwood are Big Sky Athletes of the Week

The award is Rudy’s 22nd BSC Field Athlete of the Week award, a Big Sky Conference record. She was chosen for reaching an NCAA provisional mark (12’11”) last week at the MSU Open in Bozeman. Rudy is the current NCAA indoor national champion in her event. This also marks the second time in her career she has achieved a provisional mark at her first meet of the season. Rudy, a senior hails from Woodland Park, Colorado and majors in cellular biology.
Nick Atwood, a junior from Otis Orchards, Washington, ran a BSC qualifying mark in the men’s 3000, besting the field by over 20 seconds at 8:15.80 (altitude adjusted) to be awarded Co-Men’s Track Athlete of the Week. Atwood’s time currently leads all conference performances in the event. He shares the award with Dennis Givens from Northern Arizona.
