Nubia Garcia has been named the Big Sky Player of the Week

The senior forward recorded her third double-double of the season with 18 points and 13 rebounds in a 65-62 victory over the Wildcats on Thursday. She shot 47.4 percent from the field and added two assists, two blocks and a steal.
Garcia grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds against the Bengals on Saturday. That single-game mark is the second highest in the Big Sky this season. She also recorded five assists, three points and a steal as the Bobcats knocked off Idaho State 71-52.
The native of Chihuahua, Mexico averaged a double-double last week, with 10.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. Garcia shot 43.5 percent from the field and also chipped in 3.5 assists, one block and one steal per game. She currently leads the Big Sky in rebounds per contest with 8.8.
