The Bobcats hope to extend their conference winning streak on the road this week at Weber State and Idaho State. Weber State leads the conference currently at 3-0 in and the Bengals are 1-2.

Montana State women return home this weekend for a pair of conference contests. The ‘Cats are coming off two road losses and hope to put their conference pursuit back on track.

Indoor Track and Field
Coming:
Jan. 16-17: Montana State Combined Events Invite
Montana State opens its 2009 indoor track and field season this weekend with a combined events meet at home. This is only one of two opportunities for athletes to compete in multi events before the conference indoor meet. Men’s events will start at 1:00 p.m. on Friday with the 55-meter dash and the women begin at 1:30 p.m. with the hurdle event. Saturday’s beginning at 11:00 a.m. Four MSU athletes will compete in the meet including Asa Staven and Mike Green on the men’s side, and Amanda DeHaan and freshman Sarah McGree on the women’s side.
Tennis
Montana State’s Corey Smith, a junior from Albuquerque, New, Mexico, was recently ranked No. 82 in the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles poll. Smith becomes only the second Bobcat to ever be ranked among the nation’s top 100.
Smith joins former MSU standout and three-time Big Sky Conference MVP, Federico Ueltschi, as the only players to be nationally ranked. Ueltschi, from Mendoza, Argentina, earned his highest ranking of No. 58 in 2004.
