Northern Arizona Drops Bobcat Women

NAU (4-13, 1-3) built a 13-4 lead in the first five minutes of the game and entered intermission with a 39-23 advantage.
Montana State (6-9, 0-3) closed the margin to 47-37 with 14:53 remaining on an Erica Perry layup, but would get no closer.
“We talked about how the season is a journey, and that you’re going to have highs and lows,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “The main thing is that we stay together, and get through the tough times. The good news is that we’re playing two games at home this coming week.”
Perry paced four Bobcats in double-figures with 15 points, while Anne Phippard added 11, Nubia Garcia 10 and Katie Bussey 10.
For the game, MSU shot 40 percent from the field and 83 percent from the line. The Lumberjacks finished the game hitting 42 percent from the floor and 93 percent from the charity stripe.
NAU held a commanding 44-27 advantage in rebounding. MSU was led under the boards by Jenny Heringer with a team-high seven rebounds.
Northern Arizona was led by Tiffany Amos with a game-high 21 points and ten rebounds.
MSU will host Weber State on Thursday in Worthington Arena.
