Bobcat Spikers Ground Air Force, Drop Match to UC Davis

With its win over the Falcons, the Bobcats move to 2-3 on the season.
Sophomore Jodeen Rademacher tallied a team-high 11 kills, while Nicole Grypiuk and Kaytlin Van Burger added ten kills, apiece.
“We had an inconsistent day, but give our student-athletes credit for coming back in the second match and getting a road win,” said MSU first-year head coach Sara Schaub. “Our numbers weren’t great, but we found a way to get it done. It’s important for us to learn how to win at this point of the season.”
Junior setter Taylor Faught dished out 39 assists and added 11 digs, while Laura Viren chipped in eight kills, a career-high five aces and four blocks. Defensively, Meghan Albiston pace the Bobcats with 19 digs. Van Burger led all MSU players at the net with six blocks.
In its opening game of the AFA Tournament, UC Davis handed the Bobcats a 25-14, 22-25, 25-20, 25-13 setback.
MSU was paced in the loss by Grypiuk with 12 kills and two blocks.
The Bobcats will face North Carolina State and Akron on Saturday.
