The Classic, hosted by Colorado State University, takes place at the Ptarmigan Country Club and features 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
“We are ready to go and excited about the new season,” head coach Leslie Spalding said. “There’s a lot of experience on this year’s team and some strong leadership as well. We should be able to do well.”
The ‘Cats finished 20th in last year’s tough field and were led by LaRae Smith, a senior on this year’s team. Smith is part of a large contingent of seniors on this year’s team including Shannon Donegan, Hilary Folkvord, Kelly Gillum, and Tessa Stevenson. Gillum returns after sitting out a year with shoulder surgery.
MSU and Northern Colorado are the only Big Sky schools in the invite. The 20-team field includes last year’s winner, California.
