Gillum Tops MSU Golfers at CU Invite

Gillum shot a final round 74 to lead the Bobcat golfers to a 17th place finish in the event hosted by Colorado University.
Montana State finished second among Big Sky Schools in the event with a three-round total of 921, just six strokes behind league-leading Eastern Washington. Finishing behind MSU were Portland State, Weber State and Northern Colorado.
Notre Dame won the meet with a six-under 858 followed by Texas Tech (one-under 863) and Colorado (three-over 867). The medalist for the invite was Kay Hoey of CSU-Long Beach with a nine-under par 207.
LaRae Smith finished second among MSU golfers with a 234 in a tie for 78th place. The ‘Cat golfers finish up their fall golf schedule Oct. 13 at the Bronco Fall Invite at Boise, Idaho.
