Fall Camp Report #2

Bobcat coach Rob Ash likes his teams to play fast, and he was especially pleased after Tuesday's second practice of the fall. "The defense had a good day (Tuesday)," he said. "They really played fast, with good tempo. Now, we're only in helmets, but I thought they looked good. The offense looked good, too, especially in seven-on-seven, but they were a little sloppy in the (11-on-11) team period."

Bobcat fans will have another web site to check for daily updates on Bobcat football beginning Wednesday, as www.robashfootball.com is slated to go live. The new site, which remains under construction for the next several weeks, features content centering on the Bobcat football program.

Only one Bobcat made a position move over the summer. Linebacker and special teams ace Jesse Anderson moves from defense to offense, where he will play as a fullback and tight end.

The Bobcats have two kickers in camp... for now. Michael Sweeney, who split kicking duties with Eric Fisher last fall, informed Bobcat coaches early in the summer he would not return this year. Fisher, a junior, and freshman Jason Cunningham will compete for place-kicking duties during fall camp. A familiar name from far away, Norwegian Kim Torp, is also expected to join the Bobcat program in the upcoming weeks. Oyvind Torp, Kim's father, kicked for the Bobcats in the late '60s and early '70s.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Wednesday: Practice #3, half-pads (shoulder pads and helmets), 3:15 pm
Thursday: Practice #4, half-pads, 3:15 pm
