Athletics Staffers Pick Up Hammers for Habitat for Humanity

The crew worked on two duplexes in the West Winds subdivision behind Bozeman’s Home Depot. Chores ranged from roofing and sheet rocking to installing windows and door frames.
“This was an opportunity for us to get together as a group and give something to the community,” Athletic Director Peter Fields said. “We have a lot of people in the department that volunteer their time to various organizations, but this gave us a chance to do something together.”
Habitat for Humanity is currently building four units in the Gallatin Valley area and is always looking for volunteers, according to Executive Director Jennifer Frank.
“Some people think we just give away homes, but we don’t,” Frank said. “The families that receive the homes pay a mortgage to Habitat for Humanity and also have to log a lot of hours working on their homes and other Habitat builds.”
