Wozniak Joins MSU Staff, Arnold Returns to Michigan

John Wozniak, a former assistant coach at LSU, has joined the Montana State football staff as tight ends coach, Bobcat head coach Rob Ash announced Thursday.
Wozniak replaces E.J. Arnold, who accepted a coaching position at Northwood University in Midland, Mich. Arnold spent two years at MSU, where his father Dave was head coach from 1983-86.
Wozniak takes over as tight ends coach at MSU after his second stint at LSU. He served as a graduate assistant for the Tigers in 2006 and again during spring of '08, and spent the 2007 season at Georgia Southern coaching Eagles tight ends and special teams. The Milwaukee native's coaching career began at Knox College, his alma mater, as a graduate assistant in 1999. In 2000 he was promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, then moved to Oklahoma State as a graduate assistant for the 2004-05 seasons.
"Our offensive staff has become familiar with John over the past year," Ash said. "(Co-offensive coordinators) Dale (Ploessl) and Jim (Svoboda) are impressed with his knowledge and his ability to coach and teach. We're pleased that John has joined our staff."
Ash said Arnold made significant contributions to the Bobcat coaching staff. "E.J. Arnold is an outstanding football coach, which runs in the family," Ash said. "He proved to be an outstanding tight ends coach, and did a very good job with the special teams. Northwood pursued him and the opportunity to move closer to their families turned out to be a situation E.J. and (his wife) Mandy couldn't pass up."
