The 2007-08 Bobcat basketball squad ranked 11th in the nation with a 3.392 cumulative grade-point average. Last year, MSU was fourth in the country on the WBCA list.
“To be ranked among the top 15 NCAA Division I programs in terms of academics is an outstanding achievement by our players,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “Every season we set goals to be successful on the court and in the classroom; and our student-athletes are committed to meeting these expectations.”
South Dakota State was the top NCAA Division I program with a 3.669 GPA. Big Sky rivals Eastern Washington and Northern Colorado also finished among the top 15.
GPAs are calculated by dividing the total number of quality points earned by each student-athlete on an institution’s roster in the given academic terms by the total number of hours earned by the team.
