Claggett and Eby Named Big Sky Conference Scholar Athlete Award Winners

One male and female athlete from each of the nine Big Sky member institutions was nominated for the honor by their respective athletic department.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2, be a member of the graduating class and/or have completed their last year of intercollegiate athletic eligibility, have completed at least two years of competition at the institution, and be a letterwinner.
Claggett, a native of Marysville, Calif., served as a team captain for the Bobcat football squad, this past fall. A two-year starter and two-time Don Hass most inspirational performer, Claggett was a 2006 Big Sky Conference honorable mention pick. In addition, he was a two-time Big Sky Conference All-Academic selection.
Claggett is a history/education major.
Eby, a native of Eagle River, Alaska, was an eight-time Big Sky Conference All-Academic choice. She placed ninth at the 2007 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championships and qualified for numerous indoor/outdoor Big Sky meets.
Eby was this year’s recipient of Montana State’s A.L.L. Star Award, which honors the student-athlete with the highest number of individual community service hours. Eby donated over 500 hours in the last year to two projects, Big Sky Youth Empowerment and the Emerson Cultural Center.
Eby double majored in pre physical therapy and psychology
