Fifty-Four Bobcat Student-Athletes Land on Big Sky Conference Spring Academic List

To be eligible for all-academic consideration, student-athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average; competed in half of their team’s competitions; and have completed one academic term at his/her institution.
The Bobcat women’s track and field team racked-up an impressive 30 all-academic honorees, followed by men’s track and field (10), men’s tennis (7), golf (4) and women’s tennis (3).
Montana State enjoyed unprecedented success in the classroom during the 2007-08 season. For the 16th consecutive semester, the average athletic department GPA was above a 3.0. In addition, 19 student-athletes were named to the President’s List with a 4.0 GPA, while twenty-six garnered all A’s or A-‘s. Seventy-three student-athletes earned Dean’s List recognition with a 3.5 grade point average or better.
“The continuing efforts of the student-athletes, coaches and support personnel have produced success in the classroom that is unprecedented,” said MSU Athletic Director Peter Fields. “Even though their efforts in competition produce the most “ink,” their efforts in the classroom are of more importance to us, as these are the efforts that will carry them to real success in life.”
