Four Bobcats Named to All-Big Sky Tennis Teams

Bobcat senior Kyle McDonald earned first-team kudos for the third time in his career. The Casper, Wyo., posted a 17-5 dual record- all coming at No. 1 singles. In addition, he combined with Jakub Dybala at No. 1 doubles, where the tandem registered a 17-5 mark.
McDonald was a first-team all-conference selection in 2005 and 2007, while gaining honorable mention honors in 2006. In all, McDonald notched over 120 victories at Montana State.
A pair of Bobcat women’s tennis standouts garnered All-Big Sky first-team honors, as well.
Freshman Stephanie Jasper, a Bozeman native, guided MSU at the top spot, posting a 17-3 overall mark. Playing at No. 1 singles, she tallied a 13-3 ledger.
Sophomore Laura Villegas also garnered first-team accolades. The native of Cota, Columbia was 18-3 overall and 7-1 in Big Sky action. As a freshman, Villegas was an all-league second-team pick.
Jasper and Villegas also combined in doubles play, posting a 10-3 mark at the No. 2 position.
Rounding out MSU’s all-conference selections was freshman Fletcher Keyes. The Park City, Utah native notched a 16-8 overall mark, including a 7-1 mark in Big Sky play at the No. 4 slot, to earn honorable mention kudos.
