Montana State Skier Earns ESPN The Magazine District 7 Academic Honors

Rennie, a junior from Ottawa, Canada, is a three-time NCAA Skiing Championship qualifier for the Bobcats. This past winter, she placed 27th overall in the Nordic freestyle event and 34th in classic at the NCAA national meet. Rennie posted her best finish of the season with a second place showing at the University of Utah Invitational in freestyle.
In the classroom, Rennie is a three-time United State Collegiate Ski Coaches Association all-academic selection. She is majoring in cell biology and neuroscience at Montana State.
To be eligible for ESPN The Magazine academic accolades, a student-athlete must be a sophomore in academic standings, have a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average or better, and be a major contributor to their team.
District 7 includes NCAA Division I schools in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado and Montana. Sports included in the At-Large category are skiing, golf, tennis, swimming, gymnastics, hockey, lacrosse, water polo, fencing, rifle, field hockey, crew, and bowling.
Rennie’s name will be moved to the national ballot for ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America consideration.
