Fields, Bechtold Appointed to NCAA Posts

Peter Fields, Director of Athletics at Montana State University for the past six years, has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Leadership Council.
Fields has been extensively involved in intercollegiate athletics on the national level since arriving at Montana State. He holds posts as the Second Vice President of the FCS Athletic Directors Association, and serves as Chair of the NCAA Management Council’s FCS Subcommittee. Previously, he served as President of the College Athletic Business Management Association (1999).
The Leadership Council aids the NCAA Board of Directors in policy formation and governance issues. The Leadership Council reports directly to the Board of Directors.
As Montana State’s Athletic Director, Bobcat student-athletes have maintained a cumulative team grade point average better than 3.0 each semester. Fields also oversees the implementation of initiatives such as the A.L.L Program promoting community service, and mentoring programs helping Bobcat student-athletes assimilate into the campus and Bozeman communities.
Montana State Associate Athletic Director Camie Bechtold also earned an NCAA appointment, landing on the Association's Student-Athlete Awards, Benefits, and Financial Aid Cabinet. Bechtold oversees Bobcat Athletics' student services division, coordinating academic support and compliance.
