Schaffer Lands Weekly Honor

Montana State sophomore Kris Schaffer finished the regular season strong on Friday, and Tuesday the Big Sky Conference rewarded her with weekly Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Schaffer, from Pierre, S.D., logged a mark of 50' 2" in the shot put at Montana's Tom Gage meet on Friday in Missoula. That mark moved her to the lead in the Big Sky and broke the school record previously shared by Jen Allen and Kylee Zent (49-1). Schaffer moved into seventh place in Big Sky history with the toss.
