Bobcat Duo Earns Athlete-of-the-Week Honors

A pair of Montana State throwers reaped the benefits of outstanding performances last weekend, earning Big Sky Conference Field Event Athlete of the Week honors this week.
Sophomore Javelin thrower Nick Lam (Billings) earned men's honors for his NCAA Midwest Regional qualifying mark of 214-7, the best mark in the league by nearly 10 feet. He won the Al Manuel Dual Meet Invitational in that event Saturday in Missoula.
Sophomore Kris Schaffer (Custer, S.D.) also hit the qualifying standard in the shot put with a toss of 47-9.25. She won that event, and finished 13th in the discus.
