Smith Takes Ninth at Cowgirl Classic

Smith shot a final round 75 to finish 12 over par in the two-day event leading into tomorrow’s Big Sky Conference Preview in Phoenix.
“The girls are peaking at the right time,” head coach Leslie Spalding said. “I’m really happy with how they’re playing right now and their attitude is great. LaRae fought through and really played like her old self.”
Eastern Washington won the 16-team event with a two-day score of 912 (48 over par). EWU’s Kristina Gargaro was the medalist at the tourney shooting a five par 221 for the event.
