MSU Women’s Tennis Run comes to an End

The Lumberjacks posted wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to earn the opening point.
NAU then claimed victories at Nos. 2, 3 and 6 singles to secure the win and advance to the championship match against No. 1 seed Sacramento State.
“It was a good tennis match, and Northern Arizona played very well,” said MSU head coach Denise Albrecht. “I thought our girls competed well, and if the match was played-out, we would’ve taken a couple of points.”
The Bobcats finished its season with a 12-6 overall mark and a 6-2 Big Sky Conference ledger. MSU had its best year since the 1997 campaign when the squad recorded a 17-9 overall mark.
“We had a super season and have a lot to be proud of,” Albrecht said. “We’ll lose some outstanding seniors, but we also return a very solid nucleus that will help us make a run at a title next season.”
