Four Montanans Named Bobcat Captains for '08

If Bobby Daly and Jim Verlanic need advice how to handle their roles as two of Montana State's four team captains in 2008, they know where to go for answers.
Daly's father J. and Ken Verlanic, Jim's dad, each played for the Bobcats in the 1970s. Each served in leadership positions for the 'Cats. Daly, from Helena, and Anaconda's Verlanic, both former Bobcat walk-ons, earned two of Montana State's four captain spots, announced by MSU coach Rob Ash on Friday.
Bozeman's Dane Fletcher and Jeff Hansen of Great Falls also earned a captain's 'C' for 2008, and both are juniors. Daly returns as one of the nation's top defensive players, while Fletcher retuns as one of the nation's leaders in tackles-for-loss. Verlanic is a returning starter at center, while Hansen is a two-year starter at guard.
