MSU's Smith Climbs to Eighth on Day Two of BSC Golf

Smith’s two-day total for 36 holes is 153.
“I’m proud of the way they all played today,” MSU head coach Leslie Spalding said. “LaRae continues to move up the leaderboard with great ball striking and scrappy play.”
Eastern Washington was bumped out of the top spot by Portland State as the Vikings posted a second day team score of 297 to lead the field of ten teams. Montana State remains in seventh place with a two-day total of 640. The ‘Cats shaved 12 strokes off their first round score to stay just 12 strokes behind sixth place Sacramento State.
Ali Cater of Northern Arizona shot a second day 72 to claim first place from EWU’s Kellie Holmstedt who fell to third place in the event. Carissa Simmons, sister of Bobcat senior Stephanie Simmons, shot a second day 72 for the University of Montana. Only one stroke separates EWU and Northern Arizona for second and third place.
