Montana State junior LaRae Smith sits in a tie for seventeenth place after shooting a 78, only one stroke off the season low round that earned her a fifth placer in the conference preview event. The top round of the day was shot by Eastern Washington’s Kellie Holmstetd at 71.
EWU took an early lead in the conference tourney at 12-over-par with all five of their golfers in the top twenty. Northern Arizona is in second at 14-over-par. Montana State’s team score is a 38-over-par 326.
