Rob Ash can dress up his expectations and areas of focus for Montana State’s 2008 spring any way he likes, but he knows. He knows what everyone will be talking about. He knows where his gaze will be during the Bobcats’ 15 practice sessions. And, he knows what is important. “The quarterback position, far and away,” Ash says of the key position battle during his first spring session as MSU’s head football coach. The Bobcats welcome junior college transfer Mark Iddins to camp, along with returning youngsters Jordan Rasmussen (so.) and Willie Sullivan (fr.). Mark Desin (so.), a receiver last year, also takes snaps.

• MSU logged its sixth straight winning season in 2007, and by posting a 4-4 league record extended the program’s string of consecutive seasons at or over .500 to seven
• The Bobcat defense scored six touchdowns last fall
• Demetrius Crawford became the 12th Bobcat to rush for 100 yards in a game at least three times in a season
• Jack Rolovich finished his career with 3,911 career passing yards, 5th in Bobcat history
