Bobcat Women’s Tennis Team Ends Regular Season with Sweep of Bengals

Montana State (11-5, 6-2) secured the No. 3 seed at next weekend’s Big Sky tournament at Sacramento State.
The Bobcats opened the match winning the doubles point with victories at Nos. 1 and 2.
MSU then swept five singles matches without dropping a set. Sophomore Laura Villegas had one of the most dominating performances of the match, posting a 6-0, 6-1 decision over Sophie Dang. No. 6 singles was not play.
“We had a super road trip and I’m really proud of the way we competed,” said MSU women’s coach Denise Albrecht. “To play three matches against Weber State, Utah State and Idaho State, and not give up a point is a testament to how well we’re playing.”
MSU will open Big Sky Conference tournament action next Thursday in Sacramento.
